Wrapping paper isn't the only
good source for making origami ornaments;
|
recycled magazine pages can
also be fine candidates for folding. The inflatable balloon, also known
as the water bomb (follow the directions
at wicked4kids.com, skipping the final water-filling step), was one of
the first origami shapes I ever learned to fold as a kid, and to this
day, it's the only one I can make from memory. It's a cute and very
cheap substitute for the traditional glass balls that fill out a
Christmas tree, and tied with a contrasting ribbon, it looks like a
holiday gift. |
