Pour 2 oz. brandy, 1 oz. triple sec, and 1 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice into a cocktail shaker with cracked ice. Shake well to combine. Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass*. Garnish with a lemon wheel or twist.

*if desired, rim the glass neatly in sugar as follows: wet the rim with a lemon slice, then dip rim in a plate of sugar and roll to coat evenly.
