the shopping list
Print out this
puppy and do a little tour through your kitchen before you go to the
grocery store. There’s nothing worse than an eleventh hour run when
something crucial is sitting on the stove. I’ve organized the list
into categories of foods that tend to be found near one another in the
store, a tactic intended to minimize your shopping time. This list is
intended for a party of 4-6 adults (with appetites);
you may want to take a look at the recipes and do some multiplication if
you intend to host a few more.
meat and dairy
1 wedge Brie
1 package extra-firm tofu
(cut back on the
chicken and do two packages of tofu if you expect there’ll be a lot of
tofu eaters in the crowd)
1 breast boneless, skinless chicken per chicken-eater
1 pint vanilla ice cream or lemon sorbet
hummus
bread + starch
table water crackers
(I like Carr’s
but many grocery stores sell good generic versions now)
white, blue and yellow corn tortilla chips
basmati rice
hummus
baking/cooking supplies
olive oil
balsamic vinegar
white or rice vinegar
maple syrup
brown and white sugar
black pepper
salt
soy sauce
