butter/oils:
Scrape up as much of the butter (or blot away as much of the
oil) as possible. Sprinkle cornstarch, baking soda or baby
powder (talc) over the remaining area. Let it sit for a few
minutes, until the powder has absorbed the grease. Gently brush
off. Wash with detergent solution.
