Assuming you witness the
spill in action, soak immediately in cold water and blot clean,
changing towels as necessary until the stain is gone.
For linens: If the stain
has already dried in, stretch the fabric over a bowl. Pop a
rubber band around the bowl to hold the fabric in place, then
pour boiling water over the stain from a foot or so away. (Try
to do this in a deep sink or bathtub; you don’t want to splash
yourself with boiling water).
