Hard candy wrapped in foil

If you can string it up and hang it on the tree without toppling the tree out of balance, it's fair game for an ornament. 
Candies wrapped in shiny colored foil make a pretty reflective surface for your Christmas tree lights; moreover, once the holiday season is over, you don't have to find a place to store these makeshift ornaments … just pop them into a candy dish, and enjoy the sweet treats at your leisure.
