Plot synopsis In a fabulous, twisted-fairytale world, children are disappearing off the streets, rounded up by the evil genius Krank who, cursed to never have dreams of his own, tries desperately to steal those of the children he kidnaps. When a soft-hearted, slow-witted circus strongman named One sees his young friend Denree being carted off one night by Krankís army of Cyclops, he sets out to save the boy. Along the way, he meets up with a jaded little girl named Miette, head of a gang of orphan child thieves, whose cold, hardened heart begins to melt a little in Oneís kind presence, and who joins him in his quest to save Denree and bring an end to Krankís reign of terror.

Review One of the most visually stunning movies Iíve ever seen. Jeunet and Caro, directors of the similarly bizarre Delicatessen, have fashioned a lush dreamscape of a world Ö makes me wish I could hire them to provide art direction for my dreams and nightmares, to sculpt my sleepworld this gorgeously and to populate it with such odd, wonderful characters.
