a split personality | This here is the office -- or the half of it that doubles as a guest room, at any rate. The blue couch is a futon bed that folds out when we have overnight visitors. To avoid making it feel like too much of a typical boring office, I painted the blah beige file cabinets in a fun yellow and crazy lime green. The lamp on top of the yellow cabinet was a thrift store score --  a real steal at $5. As an added bonus, the green base has a bulb inside in addition to the one that's hidden by the lamp shade. >
